Traffic Post, Bhubaneswar was previously functioning from a small building near IDCOL, Unit-II, Bhubaneswar. It shifted to its present location near A.G. Square in the year 1997. It was upgraded to a Police Station vide Govt. of Odisha, Home Department Notification  No. 10537/D&A dtd. 25.02.2009 and has become functional w.e.f. 02.03.2009 vide C.O. No. 311 dtd. 02.03.2009
